How can you expect me to stay,

When I know you wouldn't stop me if I tried to leave?

How can you expect me to believe you,

When you disappoint me time and time again?

How can you expect me to love you unconditionally,

When you punish me for not acting so?

How can you expect me to chase after you,

When it feels like I'm the only one who wants this?

How can you expect me to be there,

When you push me away?

How can I bear to say hello,

When I have to eventually whimper a solemn goodbye?

How can you expect me to hang on,
When you give me so many reasons to give up?

I understand that some of us need work, but I've worked at this so hard for so long, my hands are bleeding.
