You always said something about my eyes know

that no matter what you said or did, it felt as if my eyes pierced through all the bullshit you attempted to elude me with.

I never understood, how you made it sound like a super power, an ability far beyond my own.

I never assumed what I knew as fact, as I was heavily biased.

I looked at you more clearly than ever today, and I understood where this belief came from.

I saw it.

I saw the fear of rejection.

I saw you sense the danger of exposing your soul.

I saw walls and defensive mechanisms of all kinds.

I understood every single thing you did not want me to see.

& proceeded to pretend that I hadn't.
