I Interviewed Loudima Dreamer So I Wrote About It

It's been a while and I truly do apologize. I'm back at it with a project I am still very passionate about. I was waiting for the energy to feel organic for me. So here I am to share some local talent with you. I promise that it was well worth the wait.

Here is my FOURTH creative (out of five).

We call him Loudima Dreamer.

Loudima is a sound engineer and is currently getting comfortable in what I think is is calling, producing.

He is also in a group called the Deck Geeks.

Last year they were a personal favourite for Hip Hop Thursdays at Chopsi's Bar.

He (finally!) dropped his EP which as innovative blend of his beats, poetry and rap.

It's 100% local. Are we even worthy?

Hi Loudima! Tell us about how you fell in love with your craft?

I found (making beats) a good way to tell a story. I am trying to master the art of story telling through music

You've been a DJ for a minute! How do you think you have contributed to your industry in Namibia?

I think I've taught people that it' okay to not play or do things tat are popular at the moment.

How do you think you have contributed to the creative culture in Namibia as a whole?

I think I have given people more of a platform to be where they need to be (creatively) and express themselves better.

How long have you been working on your EP?

I have been working on it for about 2 years. However, I got the verses in late 2017.
I made the beats first and sent them out to artists.
(This includes local poets Ashwyn The Performer, Playshis the Poet and local rappers Metamorph, The Boy Jay & Sky Sam )

How did you decide who got what?

I thought about who would be good to what, what their strengths were and sent the briefs. Beats were given & I worked individually with each of the artists.
FUN FACT: No one heard anybody else's verse until a week ago.
I think it as a testament to how good I am as a producer by getting people to do different things and still have a UNIFIED project.

I agree! At this point in your career what would you like to be hired for?

I'd like to produce more projects

What do you think the creative industry in Namibia needs?

Money.

Tell us about The Deck Geeks and will we see you all together soon?

We got together because we're doing similar things which grew into us doing shows together so we formed a collective.
The Deck Geeks are spontaneous but we definitely would like to create a bigger platform for ourselves in the future.

I listened to the EP, I loved it.

Here's where you can listen to/download it.
