10 Reasons You Should Go To The Natural Hair Expo [Despite Your Gender & Hair Texture]

It's about that time of the year: time for the THIRD Natural Hair Expo.

Are you sitting on the fence about going?

I've been getting a lot of questions so I figured I'd answer all of them in a blog post.

1. It Will Be Child Friendly

Entrance for children under the age of 16 is FREE.

There will also be body painting and a jumping castle to keep your little ones busy.

2. There Will Be Plenty of Booze

Oh don't worry, we have things planned for the adults too.

Chopsies will have a stall there, there will also be wine and beer tasting.

3. There Will Be Entertainment  

 

 

From performances to discussion on hair and beauty, the Natural Hair Expo has you covered.

There will also be some poetry by yours truly.

 

4. No... You Do NOT Need To Have Natural Hair To Attend

I've been asked this a lot.

"Do I need to have natural hair to come?"

 No you do not, there will be beauty products available.

 Also, many hair products are ideal for all hair textures, they are not limited to people with natural hair.

5. Gents... We've Gots You

 Did I mention beer tasting?

& a car wash?

& stalls that have products for your beard?

We've gots you. 

Bring your girl, bring your boys, either way you'll have fun!

6. Prizes

 

 You get a prize JUST for showing up [in African print] and looking fine as hell.

7. Me & Other Amazing Women

Yours truly will be in attendance as a blogger, poet and panelist for the discussions and tips.

Along with Lorna Mabuku who will also be performing and is on the panel.

Leah, a blogger, fashionista and a panelist (one of my faves, in fact!)

Varaa, a model and panelist.

The ladies who organized the Expo for all of us will be in there.

And of course all the other lovely ladies who will be in attendance.

Sounds preeeeetty lit to me.

8. Tickets Are Cheap & Easily Accessible

N$ 100.

Kids under 16 enter for free.

You can pay at the gate.

In the words of the wise DJ Khaled, don't play yourself and miss this.

9. Me... Again

Right, did I mention I'm also attending as a vendor?

Well, I am!

I will be debuting my baby, By Design.

I will be there making custom blends for your hair and your beards.

Make sure to give my stall a visit.

10. Because Local is Lekker

This is perhaps THE most important reason.

 The majority of the vendors are selling local products. 

This event was organised by fellow Namibians.

The government is broke.
