Day 23: If You Won The Lottery….

Money, money money, money, moneeeeeeey!

I hope you sing that as dramatically as I wrote it!

What would I do if I won the lottery?

Well I wanted to give this piece a different kind of vibe, it can’t always be about ME.

I can only be SO MUCH of a narcissist. 

So I asked the people around me over the week: What would you do if you won the lottery?

While we were playing FIFA, my most sensible friend said that he would pay his school fees first, this year and the next. Then maybe a car.

The next asked me how much it was first *rolls my eyes aggressively*

What’s the fun in that? How can I know your heart’s true desires if you start making hypothetical scenarios realistic?

The other said he'd buy a car and an apartment, buy his plot (land is expensive in Namibia, fam!), Golf 7 GTi and register his company… sorry companieS.

My girl friend Olivia said she’d leave this country and go to somewhere, “somewhere not here, that’s for sure.”

My other male friend "I’ll fly out to… Cancun and settle down"… he can’t settle down here because he won’t get the lifestyle he desires. I say as millennials we should make the life we desire, he says he’ll think about it.

So, I had a chill the next day and asked one of the guys I was with and he said he’d travel, when I asked why he said “travelling is like reading a book without actually doing it”. Then move out. Buy a Benz. (Because when will we be able to afford a Benz?)

The other (my best friend!) said he’d buy a bike (duh, didn’t even need to ask) and proceed to spend the rest of his money as if it's what he won.

So, I looked at all these answers and asked myself, honestly, truly: What would I do? Well I too want land. I’d buy a house because really, I don’t want to pay anyone, any form of rent. I have ideas I’d love to fund money into, I’d invest some and if I still had more to invest, I’d invest it into BLACK Namibian creatives, because we’re out here doing the thing but don’t have funds, you know?

So that’s Day 23. What would you do if you won the lottery? Please be fun, life is so logical, have a minute to not be logical and just have fun with it!
